Position Summary:
The IT Support Specialist provides first level support to all Advanced Radiology Consultants Healthcare Services customers and clients regarding any IT related issues. This individual must have the ability to prioritize workload, make decisions, and provide end user support in a professional environment. As a member of the IT team, you are responsible for all aspects of the corporate infrastructure and application support and development.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware and peripheral issues, soliciting assistance from Applications Support and Infrastructure teams when needed.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with users at various levels in the company from operational staff and medical personnel, to executive management.
- Communicate the status of problems and resolutions to users and management as needed.
- Log calls and resolutions in the incident tracking system and follow up with users to ensure problems were fixed properly and solicit feedback and ideas for the Support Center.
- Ensure accurate documentation of resolution information in the Support Center knowledge management database.
- Tests and deploys new software and procedures, installation, conversion and upgrade activities.
- Provide user support for Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Perform initial program load and user-specific setup for standard desktop/laptop configurations.
- Responsible for setting up, support and maintenance of in-house computer systems, desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Assist Infrastructure group with user account and file server administration.
- Assist in development and maintenance of IT asset management system.
- Keep peers and manager informed of trends, significant problems, and unexpected delays.
- Must be an advocate of standardization, documentation, and well versed in technical and industry best practices.
- Assist in training program development and the preparation of well-written communications as well as end-user documentation.
- Monitor and report metrics for the ARC Support Team and Help Desk statistics.
- Identify client issues or problems which may require changes to procedures, standards and systems.
- Flexibility of hours required as the business needs demand. There will also be a need to work weekends on some occasions to meet deadlines and maximize system uptime.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of PC configuration and Windows operating systems required.
- Experience with Windows Family of Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products required. Experience supporting remote users desired.
- General knowledge of network operating systems and network topologies and protocols required.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 desired.
- Entry Level Microsoft and Comptia A certifications preferred.
- Experience supporting remote access technologies such as VPN and RDP preferred.
- Experience with medical software including: PACS, RIS and Dictation applications welcome.
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud and web content management appreciated.
- Understanding of technical and industry compliance standards, such as HIPAA, ITIL.
- Understanding of security protocols and follows business guidelines for dealing with confidential data.
- Some knowledge of telecommunication systems and equipment appreciated.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Possess a valid CT Driver’s License and insurance.
Educational Requirements:
- College degree in IT/related field and/or equivalent work experience required.
- 1 years of experience within a professional work environment supporting at least 100 users in a technical support capacity required.
