The Engineering Technician at ASCM will provide technical support, including troubleshooting, testing, data analysis, and assisting with the implementation of designs and processes. This role bridges the gap between engineering concepts and practical application, ensuring that equipment, systems, and processes function efficiently and reliably.
Technical Support:
- Assist Scientist and Engineers in the design, testing, and implementation of equipment, products, or systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and production systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues.
Testing and Analysis:
- Set up and execute tests to evaluate the performance of equipment and systems.
- Record, analyze, and report test data, identifying issues and suggesting improvements.
- Assist in quality assurance by inspecting parts, products, or assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of technical activities, including test results, schematics, and modifications.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for review by Scientist and Engineers and supervisors.
- Update equipment manuals, procedures, and maintenance logs as needed.
Process and Equipment Support:
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Train production staff on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and suggest upgrades or modifications.
Collaboration and Innovation:
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes and systems.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative solutions for technical challenges.
- Support the development and implementation of new technologies.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma required, minimum 2 year Engineering degree or relevant work experience preferred
- 5 years of engineering or electrical experience
- Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
