Job Overview
The Business Management Specialist will serve as the principal line of communication for the Bureau of Business Solutions. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Establish, manage, and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external customers in one (1) or more business segments;
- Assist with the daily operations and provide general administrative support to the assigned IT functional area;
- Participate and assist in the preparation of the annual business plan for the assigned IT functional area;
- Assist with annual expense budgets utilizing proper accounting and budgeting controls;
- Assist with entering financial data into the appropriate tracking system;
- Provide regular and ad-hoc financial status reports;
- Prepare reports, presentations, and articles for internal management and external vendors;
- Respond to basic questions and concerns from the business areas;
- Act as the liaison between IT technical teams, resource managers, and human resources to develop and execute effective IT talent management activities;
- Serve as the liaison between enterprise and end-users, external vendors, contractors, and consultants to define and establish service and support requirements;
- Engage in the development, implementation, and maintenance of communication strategies and plans for IT;
- Consistently engage with functional groups within IT to communicate and clarify customer requirements;
- Investigate and resolve issues related to customer relationships;
- Assist with organizational change management; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in creating executive-level reports and communications;
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to prepare reports, presentations, and articles for both internal management and external vendors;
- Experience with administrative functions; and
- Effectively adapt to change and manage multiple priorities.
- Three (3) or more years utilizing MS Suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat software;
- Proficient in conducting research activities utilizing internet search engines;
- Effective communication and collaborative skills;
- Proficient in coordinating multiple tasks and taking initiative to achieve objectives;
- Experience in creating presentations for executives;
- Demonstrates patience, determination, and persistence in troubleshooting client issues;
- Strong results-oriented, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
- Enjoy working as a team as well as independently; and
- Experience working in the IT industry.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communication Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
