What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Optical Systems Engineering position at Advanced Technology Search?
We are working on behalf of a leading maker of DSP chips and high speed analog ICs that go into PAM4 optical networking and data Center applications.
They are looking for a Director of Optical Systems , who will be focused on design and development of Optical Transceivers, which their chip products are integrated into.
This person will interface with their customers who make Optical Transceivers, emulate the customer’s specs, and in some cases develop new features and improvements. These transceiver prototypes will be used for test, debug, validation and interoperability testing, to make sure the chip can execute at the finished product level.
This individual will also build and manage a small but elite team to design and test the Optical Transceivers.
- We need a BSEE or higher degree, with 8 to 15 years of Optical Transceiver design experience, including strong subject matter knowledge of :
- Optical systems, analog driver ICs, DSPs, Key protocols like PAM4.
- Prefer experience with speeds of 100-200GB / S or higher.
