Job Title: Veterinary Receptionist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Veterinary Receptionist** to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, both in person and over the phone. You will be responsible for scheduling appointments, managing client records, processing payments, creating and explaining estimates, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. If you have previous veterinary technician experience (1-5 years), we offer additional benefits and compensation to recognize your valuable expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate client and pet records, including updating medical histories
- Process and explain payments and maintain cash register balance
- Assist with the coordination of veterinarian and technician schedules
- Ensure the waiting area and reception desk are clean and welcoming
- Provide basic advice to clients regarding general pet care and clinic services
- Manage inventory for office supplies and assist in restocking as needed
- Follow up with clients regarding appointments, treatments, and general care reminders
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in a veterinary, medical, or customer service setting (preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a compassionate attitude toward animals and owners
- Familiarity with veterinary software (preferred but not required)
- Basic knowledge of pet care and veterinary terminology (preferred)
