Responsibilities
SUMMARY
Receives calls at establishment and interviews loan applicants and processes loan applications. Gathers background information and analyzes credit history. Serves as liaison between member and the Credit Union. Provides account information, opens new accounts, and handles member's daily credit union needs. This position requires you to be service-oriented, self-motivated and to be able to work a variety of tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Takes loan applications and enter phone/mail/fax loan applications into the loan processing system. Answers questions regarding loan product rates and terms, etc. Ask open ended questions to encourage more loan applications and cross-sell a wide array of credit union products and electronic services such as CUAnywhere online banking.
- Meets established goals for acceptable penetration or monthly sales numbers on all ancillary loan products.
- Interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application. Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Works loan to obtain approval from centralized lending and then closes loan with member.
- Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of lending procedures, Credit Union guidelines, Lending Software, and the benefits and features of all loan products.
- Opens new accounts, checking, certificates, money markets and IRA accounts. Verifies eligibility for new account and processes through ChexSystems prior to opening new accounts. Processes check orders for members.
- Answers telephone and process daily transactions (or services) for members such as balance inquiry, transfer of funds, history information, stop payments or photocopy of check(s), etc. This includes research and resolution of member concerns. Process close account requests, address changes, and stop payments. Process return mail, post deposits, loan payments and credit card payments. Issue debit cards and troubleshoot on-line banking.
- Process wire transfer requests sent in through various channels. Verify wire information accuracy along with ensuring member security.
- Be very knowledgeable on phone etiquette and speak with a clear, concise voice. Be available to field incoming calls, keep abandoned calls, average hold times and idle times to a minimum.
- Records and delivers messages, furnishes information, performs member transactions as needed. Responds to internet questions and requests.
- Being knowledgeable of the features and benefits of all credit union products and services to enable effective cross-selling, especially our loan products.
- Be available to work during times of company closure due to inclement weather. Options include, working remotely or being available to commute to the office. Local overnight stays may be required.
- Practices The Member Advantage methodology to assist members, resolve member complaints, and build and strengthen relationships with members and employees.
- Maximizes service opportunities for current and prospective members and enhances communication through the daily use of Advancial’s customer relationship management (CRM) system, PRISM. Manages leads and referrals, updates member demographic data and communications with contacts. Tracks sales and incentive goals. Uses organizational tools in the PRISM Calendar. Recommends next best product from marketing campaigns to generate cross sell opportunities.
- Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- The hours for this position are Monday thru Friday 9am -6pm central.
The pay range for this position is $20.69 - $25.86 per hour, based on relevant experience.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two–year College or technical school; and six months related lending experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
