The Winter Shelter Monitor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals residing in the shelter. Responsibilities
- Supervise shelter residents to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Conduct regular checks of the facility to maintain security and cleanliness.
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral management as needed.
- Assist residents with case management by connecting them to resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and documentation of incidents or resident interactions.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external agencies to facilitate support services.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among residents.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to social work and behavioral health practices.
Skills
- Strong background in social work or behavioral health is preferred.
- Experience in supervising individuals or groups in a shelter or similar setting.
- Proficient in crisis intervention techniques and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents and staff.
- Knowledge of case management principles to assist residents in navigating available resources.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively within a diverse population of shelter residents.
- Certification in relevant areas such as crisis intervention or behavioral health is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
