Maintenance Laborer

Position Summary: The Maintenance Laborer works five (5) eight (8) hour shifts however conditions in production can change rapidly and may require adjusting to schedule changes or respond to emergency call-ins and other needs in a plant that operates on a 24/7 basis. The job requires the individual to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.).   Key Job Responsibilities: Operates fork truck, backhoe and front-end loader Provides routine housekeeping duties Act as relief person for material handler and laboratory assistant position Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintains a knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management, OSHA requirements, and API standards Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements Required to enter and work in confined spaces Participate in all aspects of AdvanSix Operating Systems    Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to lift 50 lbs Basic understanding of chemical plant manufacturing environment   Additional Qualifications: Ability to work on an 8-hour shift schedule. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to perform physical labor associated with jobs Possess a strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes Ability to work at elevated heights - greater than 50 feet. Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces. Demonstrated ability to deliver a safe work space based on following standard work. Demonstrated ability to work and take corrective actions within an industrial setting. Demonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization. Must be able to work overtime and provide off hours support in order to continue 24/7 plant operations
