Shop Technician

Description:

This individual will perform in-diagnosis and repairs as needed (bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, etc. ) in the shop. These repairs will consist of, but are not limited to complete component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning following prescribed technical manual procedures. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible, work overtime, and weekends on occasion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform in-diagnosis as needed on heavy equipment in the shop.

· Inspecting and maintaining all types of heavy equipment

· Repairing equipment of all sizes and shapes

· Disassembling and reassembling engines

· Safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and material handling equipment

· Understand engine, power train, hydraulics and electrical systems

· Trade specific tooling, including hand tools and pneumatic tools

· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

· Create and maintain a safe working environment

· Assess if equipment is cared for currently and notify proper personnel if it is not

· Promote 3rd party service

· Any other duties deemed necessary by a supervisor

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· 1-3 Years of service tech troubleshooting or related field

· Excellent attendance

· Must have own tools

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

· Self Motivated

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

· Be on the “on call” schedule for nights & weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
