The Director of Human Resources (HR) provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.
Director of Human Resources oversees Human Resources operations in the managed departments; planning, budgeting, and measurement of results. Provides overall strategic leadership to the company for HR initiatives; recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations. Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and employment laws. Includes maintenance of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals and our B-Corp culture. Works closely with and coaches’ executive team to ensure alignment with the overall mission and strategy.
Director of Human Resources Job Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
· Identifies key performance indicators for the organizations human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
· Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
· Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
· Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
· Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
· Drafts and implements the budget for the human resource department.
· Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
· Providing monthly and weekly metrics reports to Executive Team which include:
- LOA
- Recruiting
- Monthly Headcount, Turnover, YOS, Learning reporting
- Board of Directors Reporting
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions as required.
- Oversees compensation plan by conducting periodic benchmarking; ensures annual employee evaluations are completed according to schedule utilizing appropriate process; preparing personnel budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing compensation structure revisions.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
- Enforces management guidelines and human resource policies and procedures.
- Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of skills and education in related field required.
At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
