Interventional Radiology Technician
Role summary
Our client is seeking an interventional radiology technician to join their team. The interventional radiology technician will aid proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular, neuro-interventional cases with scrubbing side by side with procedure specialist. Schedule notes include: 2 FTEs 5 days a week. Shifts vary by department needs with weekend and weekday on-call necessity.
Primary job duties
Strong knowledge of floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines
Ability to identify, retrieve and circulate complex products during procedural cases
Critical thinking ability to navigate neuro-interventional and complex cases to help proceduralist
Ability to work power injection of iodinated contrast media device during diagnostic and interventional procedures
Maintain sterile technique and with infection prevention measures to set up procedural trays per case load
Positive contribution to muti-disciplinary team including nurses, radiologist and vascular surgeons
Knowledge in documenting electronic medical record/ sending images to Sectra/PAC systems
Groin management post intervention
Present ability to provide high quality care in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications
Current license of certification with AART NJ state
3-5 years' experience as interventional radiologic technologist or cardio-vascular technologist with NJ radiographic license
Associate degree or completion of accredited radiographic program
BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures
This role is similar to cardio-vascular technologist (CVT) but MUST have radiographic license to use x-ray fluoroscopic modalities
