Position Overview:
The Vice President of Independent Living Operations is responsible for the leadership and management of all non-healthcare functions within Advent Christian Village. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role oversees the directors of social services, food services, environmental services (maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping), marketing, conference and retreat center, wellness center, and emergency services.
This executive will ensure that Advent Christian Village’s operational, financial, and service-related goals are met while cultivating a culture of hospitality, stewardship, and mission alignment. The role requires a highly organized, relational, and financially astute leader who thrives in a faith-based, community-oriented setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Oversight
- Lead and direct all independent living operations with an emphasis on excellence, efficiency, and service quality.
- Foster a collaborative, mission-driven work culture that engages residents, employees, and community stakeholders.
- Work closely with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance Advent Christian Village’s long-term sustainability.
- Serve as a key liaison to residents and their families, ensuring open communication and responsiveness to needs and concerns.
Financial & Operational Management
- Develop and manage budgets across all assigned departments, ensuring financial stewardship and operational efficiency.
- Oversee cost-control measures while maintaining high levels of resident satisfaction.
- Monitor and optimize facility operations, including maintenance, dining, and resident services, ensuring seamless day-to-day functions.
Community & Resident Engagement
- Strengthen Advent Christian Village’s commitment to hospitality-driven service, ensuring that independent living residents experience a high quality of life.
- Collaborate with faith-based and community organizations to enhance resident engagement and program offerings.
- Lead marketing efforts in partnership with the marketing director to ensure strong occupancy and community reputation.
Emergency Preparedness & Infrastructure Recovery
- Oversee post-hurricane recovery efforts, ensuring that Advent Christian Village continues to rebuild and restore facilities efficiently.
- Implement and monitor emergency preparedness plans, including storm recovery and facility resilience measures.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Senior Living Administration, or related fields.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of senior leadership experience in independent living, senior housing, hospitality, or related fields.
- Proven experience managing multi-departmental operations in a service-oriented environment.
- Financial management expertise, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Experience working within faith-based organizations or mission-driven settings preferred.

The Village Church
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable attending and participating in The Village Church and should be open to becoming a member and serving on the Pastoral Care Committee. This committee includes church elders and staff members appointed by the CEO, all of whom are members of The Village Church.
