Position: Research Nurse (Temp)
Location: Work will be accomplished at Bldg 840, WPAFB, OH 45433-7913. Temporary alternate work locations may be assigned as circumstances dictate by the Contracting Officer Representative. “Working from home” MAY be permitted via VPN access and appropriate contactor supplied high-speed internet access. Amount of time to work from home will be agreed on by COR but should not exceed 90% of work hours.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Nurse scientist with demonstrated knowledge of research methods, experience independently conducting research, and familiarity with human subjects’ research regulations.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a Master of Science degree
- At least 5 years of medical research experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of, Cardiology and/or Internal Medicine.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing electronic medical records and compiling data.
- Demonstrated experience in database input and analysis to include basic programming.
- Demonstrated experience of technical writing and presentation skills, including the ability conduct scientific literature reviews. Develop competitive, well-written, full drafts of all research proposals, manuscripts, technical reports and presentations in coordination with professional staff and shall edit drafts as required.
- The contractor shall have Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training and HIPAA training completed by start of employee performance.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience presenting research at scientific meetings and published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
- Prior military experience or previous experience working in a military research environment.
- PhD in Nursing Science or PhD in Science degree
- Demonstrated knowledge specifically of Cardiology.
Responsibilities:
- Review Medical Records, primarily electronic, to compile data for analysis. Assist in performing analysis. Analysis will use qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques according to research goals.
- Draft and/or edit study protocols, proposals, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, slide presentations, and posters as required.
- Collaborate with professional colleagues, academic partners, medical professionals and government officials to achieve research goals.
- Organize review of relevant scientific literature and attend meetings, as required, with government organizations, academia, and meetings with other experts in their field.
- Attend/support meetings related to expertise with government and civilian organizations, academia, and subject matter experts.
- Assure confidentiality of documents, communications and study data.
- Ensure projects are conducted in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements (IRB, IACUC, etc.)
- Work with project managers and professional staff to assure that project is executing on
- schedule/budget. Attend project management meetings.
