Schedule: Full Time
Shift : Dayshift
Location: 30-45 mile radius from hospital. Areas could include in Kansas: Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Douglass, Johnson, Miami, and Franklin Counties. In Missouri: Clay, Cass, Jackson, and Platte Counties.
The role you’ll contribute:
Carries out various physical therapy procedures under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. State licensure required in Kansas and Missouri.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Provides treatment to relieve pain and to develop or restore function as ordered on Plan of Care.
- Provides accurate documentation.
- Teaches use of assistive devices and equipment to patients and caregivers.
- Observes, records and reports to physician any untoward reactions to treatment.
- Instructs and supervises family members to provide continuous therapy and home treatment plan.
- Maintains open communication with case manager.
- Submits daily log and charge sheets to Home Health office.
- Maintains communication with scheduler regarding caseload limitations.
- Participates in case conferences.
- Maintains open communication with primary Therapist.
- Possesses excellent time management skills.
- Meets agency’s expectations regarding productivity.
- Provides in-service training to staff as requested.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications:
- Graduated from a physical therapist assistant curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association.
- if educated outside the United States or trained in the United States military, graduated from an education program determined to be substantially equivalent to physical therapist assistant entry level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or identified at 8 CFR 212.15(e).
- Passed a national examination for physical therapist assistants.
- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Currently licensed and registered in the state of Kansas and Missouri
- Advanced Burn Life Support Basic Life Support Certified - Adult & Infant/Peds
- Current car Insurance
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 year of institutional experience
- 1 year home health experience
