Job Summary:
Prepares the daily deposit of cash receipts, and provides appropriate cash posting personnel with documentation in order to post patient payments to patient accounts or the general ledger accounts. Coordinates daily with leadership to balance the day’s cash deposit. Acts as a subject matter expert and quality assurance. Assigns resources and monitors work.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
- Two years' healthcare administration experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Receives daily mail receipts that have been balanced and stamped for deposit and verifies receipt total. Maintains a daily cash reconciliation recap; reports any discrepancies to management. Properly records deposits in the accounting and patient accounting system.
- Researches receipts that are not clearly marked for posting. Posts payments and adjustments to the appropriate account and makes notes required for follow-up.
- Verifies accuracy of daily cash logs. Ensures accuracy of bank deposits.
- Acts as a subject matter expert, assisting with quality assurance and training.
- Assists with projects, audits, surveys and statistics.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
