Job Summary:
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the facilities' water and sewage system in reliable operation and in good repair. Performs a variety of routine and preventive general maintenance duties. Performs building repairs and general construction duties. Maintains required records.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Relevant industrial/commercial maintenance experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- State-certified licensure as relevant to trade: Required
- Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required
Essential Functions:
- Maintains waste water treatment plant testing equipment and ensures accurate calibration. Regularly inspects aerators, pumps, chlorination and chemical treatment systems according to code requirements and good industry practices. Services septic tank as needed.
- Performs daily, weekly and monthly water testing as required by external agencies. Delivers test results to independent clinical laboratories for further testing and analyses as required. Logs observation and corrects problems.
- Makes visual observations of pond colors, floating matter, freeboard, mosquito, fish, wildlife, etc. and records observations weekly. Observes spray field run off, wash outs, spray heads, etc. Logs observation and corrects problems.
- Ensures that state and federal water quality standards are met at all times.
- Maintains tools and supplies necessary to perform duties.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
