Job Summary:
Oversees the management, operations, and financial performance of Plant Operations, Environmental Services and Safety, ongoing maintenance and repair of the buildings, mechanical/electrical systems equipment, and grounds. Ensures a safe working environment for Hospital and Medical Buildings and/or leased buildings. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public health, engineering or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Three years' general craft experience: Preferred
- One year leadership experience: Preferred
- Five years' computerized management support services and inventory management: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Required
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM): Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled and support individuals. Leads a cooperative effort among members of a project team as needed. Schedules and assigns staff for shifts and service calls. Manages staff and ensures their competency in area of expertise. Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
- Plans, directs, controls, implements, and supervises assigned maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Ensures lowest controllable cost, optimum operation of equipment, satisfactory results from maintenance and repair or installation work, and full utilization of assigned personnel. Develops and implements plans/projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Monitors and reports status and progress to Director.
- Assists in establishment of priorities, expedition of maintenance crew work assignments, and inspection of work. Monitors slack time reports and ensures ratio of PMs to work orders complies with departmental limits. Manages payroll and/or non-payroll budget. Monitors expenditures and ensures compliance with budget. Promotes effective use of resources.
- Assists in accompanying government authorities on inspections. Ensures PM inspections are completed as scheduled. Plans and schedules work for non-contracted maintenance and repair assignments. Ensures all EH&S, JAC, and regulatory compliance processes are current with departmental expectations.
- Gathers, analyzes, compiles, and records data and information for reports, studies, or surveys. Approves or recommends approval for materials, equipment, and supplies. Assists in analysis, evaluation, and recommendation of maintenance and repair procedures, work, and timeliness.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
