Job Summary:
Develops, implements, and coordinates Human Performance (HP) initiatives in support of strategic business goals which create/maintain a productive employee relations climate at the market. Helps to align HP strategy to business strategy at the local ministry, particularly focusing on applying HP policies/programs to business, talent and/or organizational issues, including the resolution of complex employee relations issues. Supports HP Director in all aspects of HP operations and supervises and directs the activities of various HP associate levels using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' related experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Provides HP consulting services, such as change management to local/facility leaders and employee managers. Assesses impact of HP and talent programs at a local level. Partners with county and system HP leadership, to champion the elevation of the culture, engagement and performance. Leads with an operational focus by establishing operational objectives for the department including work plans and delegating assignments to team.
- Coordinates with Communities of Expertise (COE) to adapt system-wide HP talent/programs to local/market needs.
- Monitors legislative updates and changes to state/federal employment law to ensure compliance and assess impact on policies/practices. Recommends revisions when necessary. Works within broad guidelines; applies advanced knowledge of multiple departments to solve complex problems which may have long-term impact on the department(s).
- Provides counsel and guidance to employee concerns of inequitable or unfair treatment, investigation of any internal complaint of discrimination, sexual harassment and other employee/manager matters. Provides policy interpretation and education. Advises market leaders on the understanding, interpretation and application of policies in employee discipline and correction.
- Acts as a point of appeal for employees in management disagreements or in following the employee grievance process. Responds timely to state/federal inquiries.
