What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Endoscopy, Per Diem, Rotating Shift (with Call) position at Adventist Health?
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a union-based role represented by the CNA. Role works with Bronchoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures. Monitors patient during procedure with recognition of alteration in physiological and psychological status of patient. Recovery of patient post sedation. Utilizes knowledge of post procedure complications and discharge criteria. Ability to provide patient clear and concise follow up instructions at time of discharge. Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic measures such as lab tests, radiology exams, and EKG interpretation. Utilizes professional nursing judgment, takes action to implement the nursing care plan and resolve the problems identified for the individual patient. Knowledgeable about equipment and supplies used for procedures, including proper cleaning and handling. Practices infection control techniques.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School or equivalent: Required
- Associate's degree or equivalent: Required
- Bachelor's (BA or BS) Degree: Preferred
- 1-year GI experience: Required
- Basic skillset in endoscopy, specifically competence with endoscopic biopsy, endoscopic mucosal injection, endoscopic polypectomy, and different hemostasis techniques: Preferred
- Experience with ERCP as well as competence with cannulation, guidewire usage, and knowledge of different biliary devices and ability to administer minimal/moderate sedation: Preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- BLS through the American Heart Association: Required
- ACLS through the American Heart Association: Required
- State of California RN license: Required
