What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Labor & Delivery, Full Time, Night Shift Full Time position at Adventist Health?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a union-based role represented by CNA. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is responsible for the planning and provision of nursing care to patients and their families during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-Sections. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing and able to cross train for OB/GYN patients. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Education and Work Experience:
- Two years' Labor & Delivery experience: Required
- Associate's Degree: Required
- Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current California RN license: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association: Required
- ACLS through the American Heart Association: Required
- NRP: Required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course: Required
