Job Summary:
Plans and designs the communications network. Provides configuration, hardware and software support. Plans and configures the wireless phone solution and ensures the network is maintained at current release levels.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
- Three years' technical experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Voice: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Plans and designs the telecommunications network. Designs/modifies equipment and systems. Manages the wireless network to ensure appropriate coverage and capacity. Coordinates with outside vendors regarding proper design, monitoring, maintenance and configuration of WANs/LANs. Manages service contract and upgrades-maintains currency of voice platforms.
- Installs and assists in installation of new telecom equipment. Pulls, terminates and tests telephone and computer cabling/wiring. Ensures interoperability between voice platforms.
- Maintains service level agreements with various end-user departments and enterprise business units. Analyzes problems and works with vendors on resolution. Perform advanced-level hardware/software troubleshooting and repairs regarding WAN/LAN-related problems in multiple configurations and applications.
- Analyzes existing methods and develops alternatives to increase operations and production efficiency. Identifies potential areas where policies/procedures require development or change.
- Answers telecom questions and interfaces with all departments regarding telecom issues. Maintains telecom documentation and wiring plans. Supervises the work of the less senior telecommunications staff.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
