Job Description
Job Title: Department Assistant I Department: Bible School
Job Classification: 7-17 Status: Non-exempt, Full-time
Ministry: Voice of Prophecy Accountable: Bible School Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Grade Bible Lessons and perform student related duties. Assist with data entry and managing records for Bible students and Discover Bible Schools. Answer telephones, process orders and perform general departmental office duties.
AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY:
Authority as delegated by the Bible School Director and Associate Director
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Handling telephone calls.
- Processing Bible School orders and invoices.
- Sort, enter, and mail requests for Bible lessons to Discover Bible Schools.
- Reply to miscellaneous postal mail and email requests.
- Grade Bible lessons using an answer key and reply to student comments.
- Cover vacationing staff.
- Assist Bible School Director, Associate Director, and co-workers as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who believes in and supports its fundamental teachings.
- Must exhibit Christ-like decorum and personal responsibility.
- Education: Minimum twi years of college education or the equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum two years of general office experience.
- Language: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Skills, Scope, and Complexity of Duties:
General computer knowledge, typing (40 wpm); use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), good comprehension and organizational skills.
Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects or unusual situations.

Within the Voice of Prophecy:
- Manager/Treasurer

- Bible School Director, Instructions, and others as need it.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General working conditions of an office
- Live withing driving distance of Loveland, Colorado.
- Moderate to occasional high stress levels due to deadlines and job load.
- Physical requirements: requires time at a computer or desk, with minimal standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 30 lbs.)
STATISTICS:
- 38 regular hours per week
- Four-day work week (Mon-Thur)
- Rare variable or weekend work
- No special clothing or safety gear required.
