What you’ll do
- Deliver fun and entertaining performances during scripted shows and improvisational interactions with guests during daily activities and games, narrating animal feeds put on by Husbandry staff, and performing engaging educational talks at exhibits
- Work in costume to deliver programs and entertain Aquarium guests of all ages
- Adhere to given dialogue and communication
- Facilitate Touch Exhibit experiences
- Maintain show quality standards, which excite and impress guests
- Participate in Aquarium related education, public relations, and guest programs including facility tours and after-hours events
- Proactively interact with guests as Adventure Aquarium’s mascot and other characters during the holiday season
- Set up and breakdown equipment and activities; ensure touch exhibits operate smoothly, including monitoring animal and guest safety throughout the day
- Support Adventure Aquarium’s overall guest experience through excellent guest service and provide operational support as needed
- Assist the Guest Experience department with other interpretative duties as needed
What you’ll bring
- 6 months – 1 year of customer service experience required
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, with a strong preference for availability Thursday through Sunday.
- Mascot or character experience preferred
- Friendly, outgoing, and proactive individual
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check
- Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with the ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment.
- Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, sit for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop, walk long distances
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Special Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background investigation.
- No allergy to plants or animals which may interfere with ability to work.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to spend most of the workday walking/standing in aquarium public spaces.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds.
