Summary
Teacher Assistants support the planning and implementation of age appropriate early childhood experiences for the class. Teacher Assistants promote the emotional, social, cognitive, physical and spiritual growth in their classroom. Teacher Assistants aid the teacher in providing quality programs for their children in a loving, safe environment, in which they feel appreciated and accepted. Teacher Assistants support the mission of the preschool and serve as positive role models.

Duties
Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher, in either classroom where needed or scheduled, escorting the children to the restroom, and filling in for breaks.Assist in planning and preparing the childcare environment, setting up centers, preparing materials and supplies.Reinforce and abide by all policies of Adventure PlaceServe as lead teacher when one is not present in the classroom.Cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping duties are integral to a smooth-running classroom.Follow weekly lesson plans and cooperatively create lesson plans with afternoon staff.Supervision of children is a priority! Children should never be left alone in a classroom or restroom for any reason.Wash tables, sweep floor, throw away trash, plug in sockets, and check the hallway and restrooms for cleanliness.Share responsibilities with other teachers for maintaining a physical environment, indoors and outdoors that is orderly and rich with stimulating experiences for children. Children should be supervised at all times. No two staff members should be together on the playground unless actively playing with the children. NO ONE SHOULD BE SITTING.Fill out incident reports immediately and completely. Have them signed by the parent / guardian.Attend all staff meetings and PR events as requestedUnderstand developmental stages and milestones of the age group working withUnderstand the impact of health, nutrition, family and parenting styles on child growth and developmentParticipate in educational development opportunitiesAssist with developmental evaluations of children as required by the program and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each childRequirements
Must have at least a High School Diploma
Must be able to pass a BCI / FBI Check
Also must be able to provide a physical
