Position Description:
- Applicants must be energetic, enthusiastic, dependable, patient, compassionate, warm & friendly. Must be a positive team player, excellent communication skills.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create and develop strong child and parent relationships.
- Foster a learning environment that stimulates child growth & development.
- Assist school-age children with homework during the school year.
- Create fun arts and crafts projects, and activities to encourage social engagement.
- Complete a minimum of 20 hours of ongoing professional development by our center annually.
- Be CPR & First Aid certified provided by our center.
An ideal candidate for this position:
- Experience with children in a licensed child care center or in an elementary school/ After-school Program
- Applicants must be personable, reliable, and child-oriented.
- Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult staff.
- Strongly recommended: recreation background, arts, and/or musical instrument skills.

Adventures In Learning was founded in 1990, and has been serving area families daily, 5 days a week, 7am to 8pm. The late Idella C. Barnes, the original founder and owner has educated area children as a public school teacher for over 25 years. Other family members have supported Center operations for several years also serving as classroom teachers. The family connection and love for the center continues. Today we are a family of families that provide childcare and preschool for the working family. We have encountered many parents that attended the Center as a preschool student over 25 years ago! At that time, the Center was formally owned by the Greene family and was known as the Little Greene Schoolhouse. Adventures In Learning is affiliated with Grow NJ Kids
