Collections Manager - Midtown Real Estate Firm - $90K-$120K Bonus
A Midtown real estate firm overseeing over 2,800 residential units and approximately 2 million sq. ft. of commercial space across NYC is seeking a Collection Manager to manage and follow up on tenant delinquencies. This role requires a meticulous and proactive professional who understands the NYC legal process and can navigate collections, legal paperwork, and court procedures effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage delinquencies, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Conduct collection calls and correspondence with tenants to negotiate payment plans and settlements.
- Prepare and process legal paperwork related to non-payment, including notices, stipulations, and court filings.
- Coordinate with attorneys and courts for eviction proceedings, settlement agreements, and legal actions.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, payment history, and legal proceedings.
- Communicate with property managers and ownership regarding ongoing collection efforts and legal actions.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in collections within real estate, property management, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of NYC landlord-tenant laws and court procedures.
- Experience working with legal counsel, housing court filings, and eviction processes.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to engage with tenants professionally.
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and organized, with the ability to track multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficient in property management software (Yardi, MRI, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Mature, professional, and earnest demeanor when handling sensitive financial matters.
Salary: $90k-120k (commensurate with experience) plus bonus and strong benefits
