Corporate Controller - Real Estate - Semi-Remote 2 days
A privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment firm with a national focus is seeking a Corporate Controller to join their NYC team. This is a highly visible position that will work closely with various department heads and upper management. Offering a growth track, collaborative team environment, and a good work life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting function in a manner which promotes teamwork and encourages continuous improvement.
- Complete monthly allocation of shared services among business units including payroll and general overhead.
- Manage the calculation and collection of management fee, asset management fee and lease commission revenue to the corporate entity.
- Report cash position and revenue to executive management on a weekly basis.
- Partner with department heads to ensure cost remain in budget while maintaining accurate forecasting.
- Oversight of the month and year end close process including corporate allocations, financial statement preparation, accruals, review journal entries and work papers.
- Assist in FP&A reporting which includes compiling multiple data sources to create reports and metrics for upper management.
- Analyze and interpret varying revenue and expense streams to project future years performance.
- Ability to use advanced excel formulas to prepare the corporate budget, analyze reforecast, and evaluate current/subsequent years net income.
- Reconcile intercompany balances between corporate and operating entities.
- Maintain internal controls and oversee financial and tax audits.
- Conduct account reconciliation and analyses and report findings to leadership.
- Be comfortable implementing ground up work papers and other processes.
- Establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- BA in Accounting / Finance or relevant discipline. Advanced graduate degree and/or CPA a plus.
- 10 years of experience in corporate accounting. Real estate preferred.
- Proficiency with Yardi, MRI or similar accounting software.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
- Be able to multi-task and be a team player.
Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 plus bonus, 401k match, comprehensive employer paid health benefits, generous PTO, and other valuable perks.
The above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity and other non-cash incentives.
