We are seeking a Head of Payroll to take the helm of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Hybrid - In the office 3 days per week!

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce of 2,000 employees on Paycom.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and commissions.
- Serve as the point of contact for transitioning or implementing new payroll systems
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including wage laws, tax filings, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including quarterly and annual tax filings (e.g., 941s, W-2s).
- Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of payroll data and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Address payroll-related inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide guidance on pay policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with benefits administration, 401(k) contributions, and deductions.
- Partner with HR and IT to evaluate, enhance, or transition to a new payroll system to support organizational growth and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within payroll operations.
- Manage and develop a small payroll team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure team proficiency in payroll processing and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of multi-state payroll experience in a mid- to large-sized organization; experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in an enterprise payroll system.
- Experience managing payroll for tipped employees, including handling tips, gratuities, and service charges in compliance with federal and state regulations, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proven experience managing a team and leading process improvements or system transitions.
- CPP certification (preferred).
Salary: $130k - $150k
