Senior Controller – Real Estate – Las Vegas
A prominent real estate developer specializing in luxury properties along the Las Vegas Strip is seeking a Senior Controller to join their team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee a team of four and manage all accounting operations related to $100M ground-up construction projects, including budgeting, financial reporting and lender activities (i.e. draw requests).
In addition to development activities, the Senior Controller will also lead accounting & reporting for several operating properties totaling over $1 billion in asset value and encompassing a mix of retail, entertainment and hospitality tenants.
The company office is in Las Vegas and requires 4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and financial management for a $1 billion property portfolio and ongoing ground-up development projects
- Lead a team of 4 responsible for all accounting operations including billing, AP, AR, G/L, cost analysis & compliance with accounting standards & regulations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting department, including maximizing the efficiency of financial systems and identifying areas for automation
- Oversee all project accounting functions from pre-development through project closeout, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Manage draw process with lenders, including preparation and submission of monthly draw packages and supporting documentation.
- Develop and refine the Company’s accounting policies and procedures, and oversee internal audits to ensure effective implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting required
- Experience in working with retail/hospitality assets
- Strong property and construction accounting concepts
- Experience managing a large team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Sage/Timberline or a related system
Base Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 Bonus
