Our client is a fast-growing law firm that provides top-tier legal services to clients across diverse industries. As the firm expands, they are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee their financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, client billing, and financial reporting. This role is integral to maintaining the firms financial health and supporting its strategic growth. In this role, you will lead and manage the firms financial functions, including accounting, billing, budgeting, and reporting. You will work closely with the leadership team to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to drive performance and profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of law firm financial operations, including time billing, revenue recognition, and cost management.
About the Role :
Oversee the firms financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and revenue reporting.
Manage the billing process, ensuring that time entries, client invoices, and payment terms align with firm policies and client agreements.
Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing key performance metrics and analysis to senior leadership.
Collaborate with practice group leaders to develop financial strategies that optimize revenue and profitability.
Oversee timekeeping and billing compliance, ensuring accurate recording of billable hours and expenses.
Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll operations.
Lead the financial audit process and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
Implement and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, providing training and guidance on best practices.
Serve as a strategic advisor to firm leadership on financial planning and risk management.
About You
A bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
7-10 years of experience in financial management, with prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
Expertise in managing billing and timekeeping systems (e.g., Elite, Aderant, or similar).
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and revenue recognition.
Proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP) and compliance with financial regulations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software and ERP systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing finance staff.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the firm.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
