About the Role :
As a Senior Family Law Paralegal, you will support attorneys in all aspects of family law cases, ensuring efficient case management and exceptional client care. You will play a critical role in document preparation, court filings, case strategy support, and maintaining communication with clients during emotionally charged situations. Key responsibilities include :
Drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents, including pleadings, financial affidavits, settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, and child custody plans.
Assisting with case intake, discovery requests, and the organization of case materials.
Preparing and filing court documents, including e-filings for state and federal courts.
Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts such as accountants, financial advisors, and mental health professionals.
Conducting legal research on family law statutes, case law, and procedural rules.
Managing client files, calendars, deadlines, and case timelines.
Assisting attorneys in trial preparation, including witness coordination and the organization of exhibits and trial binders.
Supporting attorneys in mediation, hearings, and depositions by managing documentation and logistics.
Mentoring junior paralegals and legal support staff.
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive personal matters.
About You :
Our client is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in family law. You understand the importance of empathy, discretion, and organization when dealing with sensitive matters. You bring extensive experience managing complex family law cases and possess the following qualifications :
A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (paralegal certification preferred).
7-10 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on family law cases.
Strong knowledge of family law procedures, including divorce, child custody, support, and property division.
Proficiency in case management software, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive client interactions professionally.
Experience with court filings, both in-person and e-filing systems.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
