Position: Administrative Assistant - Full Time (35 hours/week)
Salary: $20/hour with generous benefits.

Our progressive social service agency seeks a qualified Administrative Assistant to support the Executive Director, Leadership Team and all staff to ensure efficient office operations. This position will maintain digital and physical filing systems; answer phones; greet visitors at the door; maintain confidentiality; coordinate facility operations and provide a welcoming environment to staff and visitors.

Qualifications
- One year of administrative support or office management experience
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and perform basic office tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Willingness to appreciate different points of view and problem solve in a constructive manner
- Sensitivity to the impact of sexual and domestic violence in diverse and marginalized communities and the ability to articulate these concerns in a sensitive and respectful manner
- Excellent communication, writing, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Google G Suite desired, but not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships

Benefits Package Includes:
- Generous financial contribution towards our cafeteria health benefits program (includes medical, dental and/or dependant care expense reimbursements)
- Two weeks of vacation the first year, 3 weeks in year two and increases thereafter; the administrative office is closed and staff receive holiday pay for 11 federal holidays, the day after Thanksgiving, and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
- Retirement contribution after 3 years of employment. After three years of employment, an annual contribution of a minimum of 5% of the employee’s salary will be made to the employee’s established retirement account. Retirement begins accruing at 18 months but you are not vested until you have completed 3 years of employment at the Advocacy Center.
Duties and Responsibilities of all Advocacy Center staff
Create welcoming, affirming, and safe work and client spaces by:
- Following agency procedures including those relating to safety, harassment, client confidentiality, mandated child abuse reporting, and building related problems;
- Performing office tasks such as answering the phone and door, cleaning, and responding to office needs;
- Regular attendance and meaningful use of staff, department, and supervision meetings, as well as other formal and informal means of communication to better agency culture, work relationships, and services.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, navigate stairs, periods of sitting. Standing and movement required.
