The Corporate Paralegal provides legal support to Advocare, LLC, its Care Centers and physician Members. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, this position will include responsibilities ranging from very basic to highly complex. The position will also support Risk Management initiatives, reporting to the Vice President of Risk Management. The downstream impact of the Corporate Paralegal's contributions will help Advocare's legal team support our organization's valued Members, colleagues, patients and business partners.
Responsibilities
- Taking initiative to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's legal and risk management services.
- Fulfilling requests for a wide array of contracts, insurance and legal correspondence.
- Drafting employment, real estate, vendor and various other types of agreements.
- Organizing contracts, insurance policies and legal filings.
- Reviewing and analyzing various legal documents and service contracts.
- Working with outside defense counsel to support legal filings for litigation, claims, related business correspondence, case preparation, anticipated litigation and formal requests.
- Contributing to the development of standard operating procedures related to purchasing and contracting with vendors.
- Helping to assess risk related to healthcare regulations and corporate compliance.
- Communication with Care Centers, clients and third parties.
- Providing administrative support to Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, and to Vice President Risk Management, including preparing mailings, corresponding with external parties, drafting letters and other documents.
Qualifications
Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as mail, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence when requested. Ability to speak effectively and clearly to colleagues and visitors.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
