Job Summary
We are seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Determine appropriate radiological technique and position for patient using immobilization and support devices.
- Operate radiology equipment, position patients, adjust equipment, secure and immobilize support devices as needed to perform procedures.
- Determine appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient's condition to obtain quality films for radiologists.
- Secure history from patients regarding reason for prescribed test.
Requirements
- IDNS license.
- Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
- Knowledge of Health Information System.
- Basic knowledge of radiology equipment.
- CPR certification.
- Licensed by IDNS.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registered (ARRT).
Working Conditions
Able to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high-quality patient care. High degree of technical skills. Must be able to function with minimal assistance in performing job activities. Ability to deal with extremely ill patients. Ability to lift and/or move patients. Ability to work under stressful conditions, in difficult situations. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Ability to work during site hours of position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
