Major Responsibilities:
- Manages, coordinates, plans and participates in projects
- 1)Manages and plans medium to large projects across sites or within a team with general direction.
- 2)Prepares project plans, estimates schedules and resource requirements.
- 3)Plans work for others, directs and monitors the work, including staff, clients and vendors
- 4)Provides status reports by project or application. Focus point for project communication.
- 5)Assists in budget planning and monitoring.
- 6)Understands all project objectives and incorporates Advocate Health Care and IS Strategies to allow projects to meet short and long term goals.
- Provides analytical, technical and problem resolution services
- 1)Provides high level analytical, technical expertise and/or product knowledge.
- 2)Resolves complex problems independently.
- 3)Regularly provides analytical and technical guidance to staff.
- 4)Coordinates the support for a functional area.
- 5)Monitors system effectiveness and/or performance, identifies potential problems and proactively resolves them.
- 6)Conducts requirements definition, configuration and installation of complex systems.
- 7)Challenges current processes and looks to introduce new methods or processes.
- 8)Identifies CQI project initiatives and means for systems to help clients support CQI needs.
- 9)Develops comprehensive test plans. Coordinates execution of tests with multiple IS staff and clients. Tracks and coordinates resolution of problems with staff and vendors.
- 10)Guides group discussions, maintains stated objectives and challenges solutions that offer little benefit to the staff or organization.
- Develops, implements and adheres to policies, procedures and standards
- 1)Coordinates the development and implementation of procedures and standards.
- 2)Assures adherence to Advocate Health Care policies and procedures for implementations, support, and purchase of computer hardware and software.
- 3)Maintains organized working papers.
- 4)Prepares documentation and assures all project documentation is complete.
- 5)Recommends hardware and software standards and configurations.
- Establishes and maintains positive customer relationships
- 2)Provides quality customer service.
- 3)Conducts user group meetings and resolves conflicting demands of users.
- 4)Coordinate the identification, development and maintenance of service level agreements and monitors IS adherence to stated expectations and client satisfaction.
- 5)Promotes customer relations with staff.
- 1)Manages client expectations and establishes positive working relationships with clients.
- Provides business services to assigned facilities and system wide service lines
- 1)Leads system selection and evaluation of products.
- 2)Conducts feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis and authors white papers on technical issues.
- 3)Develops business plans, RFIs, and RFPs to support system selections with direction.
- 4)Conducts post implementation audits to assure system effectiveness and successful fulfillment of client objectives.
- 5)Participates in business process reengineering efforts.
- 6)Assists with contract negotiations.
- 7)Assists with strategy development
- Develops staff
- 1)Trains less experienced staff.
- 2)Trains clients.
- 3)Periodically provides analytical and technical leadership.
- 4)Recognizes other staff efforts on a regular basis.
- 5)Works effectively as member of a tea and routinely as a team leader.
