As part of our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team. This role is crucial in ensuring our facility remains a clean, sanitary, and inviting place for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housekeeping management, exceptional organizational skills, and a genuine passion for maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Team Leadership and Supervision: Manage and supervise the house staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations. Ensure the team is well-informed of their duties and committed to providing excellent service.
Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety standards. Address any issues promptly and effectively.
Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that materials are used efficiently. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best prices.
Cleaning and Sanitation: Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols that meet or exceed healthcare cleanliness standards. Ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene.
Staff Training: Provide comprehensive training for housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and adherence to safety and health guidelines.
Resident Satisfaction: Work closely with residents and their families to address any housekeeping concerns and ensure that the living environment meets their expectations and needs.
Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure all housekeeping practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Update procedures as necessary to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexibly and responsively to meet the needs of residents. Some weekends may be required.
Compassionate approach to working in a healthcare environment.
Requirements:
Ability to read, write and speak the English language
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to comply with departmental safety policies and procedures
Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements of the position
Previous housekeeping experience preferred
