Position
Swenson Spreader, LLC is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for stocking, picking, transporting, and staging materials, as well as performing physical inventory, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will assist with shipping and receiving, the ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Responsibilities
- Stocking, picking, packaging, transporting and staging a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. This involves the use of appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry picker, ladders, scanners, and hand trucks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, purchasing, and quality assurance, to support their material needs and ensure smooth operations. Communicate with team members any updates, clarifications, and address any material-related issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts, location transfers, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Identify and report potential safety hazards and actively participate in safety training programs. Operate material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following all operational guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in material handling, logistics coordination, or shipping/receiving preferred.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems such as Mapics or SAP.
- Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders and cherry pickers.
