Position
The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the production process in the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient workflow by developing and managing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, allocating resources, and collaborating with various departments to meet production goals and delivery deadlines, all while minimizing costs and optimizing productivity.
Responsibilities
- Production scheduling - Creates and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels, adjusting as needed to accommodate changes.
- Inventory management - Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking, collaborating with procurement teams to ensure timely deliveries.
- Cost control - Analyze production costs and identify areas for improvement to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Demand forecasting - Analyze customer demand to anticipate production needs and adjust schedules accordingly.
- Quality control - Work with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Performance monitoring - Track production metrics such as output, lead times, and scrap rates to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Problem-solving - Identify and address production bottlenecks, delays, and disruptions to maintain production flow.
- Communication and collaboration - Collaborate with various departments including sales, purchasing, warehouse, and maintenance to ensure smooth production operations.
- Reporting and analysis - Generate reports on production status, performance metrics, and key insights to inform decision-making.
