We are hiring and searching for an experienced Director of Healthcare / Sciences to manage a multi-disciplined team to execute planning, new construction and renovation projects for healthcare and life sciences facilities. Candidate must be accomplished in the design and project management for Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities and both Academic and Corporate Research Facilities.
The successful candidate in the Director role will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships. They will respond to RFPs and present / interview for potential projects. In addition, the Director will provide problem resolution for projects, design, staffing, timelines, etc. within the Department. Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on project(s). Responsible for the overall coordination, execution, and budget of project(s) and management of the direct reports staff. The qualified and motivated incumbent in this position will have the opportunity to advance to the VP / Department head position, which includes significant bonus / profit-sharing compensation.
This position can be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in our Voorhees, NJ office.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide management, mentoring and overall team oversight for the team for respective discipline and support
cross-discipline coordination.
Manage and oversee overall technical quality and QA / QC process for the department for respective disciplineutilizing Concord QA / QC process forms / checklists. Document QA / QC reviews for record.
Supervise and manage a team of direct reports and assigned engineers on each project. Conduct meetings asnecessary to support the supervision efforts.
Work with Management staff to maintain the scheduling of project deadlines and manpower assignments.Develop and write bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, etc., using the agreed-upon our client's methods andstandards.
Provide deep engineering expertise, guidance, and problem solving skills in drawings, designs, specifications, calculations, etc.Provide hands-on project management by consistently reviewing project plans and timelines to ensure projectare on time and on budget. Make adjustments to manpower and resources as needed to meet deadlines and
budget constraints.
Establish and maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring the highest level of responsiveness andcommunication.
Interact with the other Department Directors to maintain efficient department operations.In conjunction with our client's VP and President, hire with approval, train and mentor engineering staff.Write performance appraisals and mediate performance issues.Ensure accurate project accounting, working with Accounting to ensure compliance with all accounting protocols.Maintain department budget and revenue projections.Support department marketing efforts as they relate to their area of expertise.REQUIREMENTS :
Deep knowledge of multi-discipline engineering, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fireprotection
Must be proficient with the detailed design for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical / ITsystems with the healthcare and life sciences fields.
Strong and demonstrated project management skills.Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements, specifically NFPA and JointMeeting, FGI and AHJ.
Must have experience / working knowledge of load analysis and energy modeling programs such aseQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and / or Carrier HAP.
Strong working knowledge and utilization of AutoCAD and Revit experienceKnowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.Strong financial management skills and business acumenAbility to plan and manage projects to achieve client demands and deadlines.Ability to direct and manage the activities of internal and external resources.Able to manage and direct the workflow of others.Able to prioritize as well as multi-task.Excellent "in-person" communication skillsCapable of effectively training and mentoring othersAble to work collaboratively within Concord as well with the client.Excellent Microsoft Office abilitiesAble to read, write, speak and understand English.QUALIFICATIONS :
Professional Engineer (PE) certificationBachelor of Science Degree in EngineeringAt least 15 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience with a strong record of accomplishment in the design and project management for critical care facilities and laboratories.Experience in the management and multi-disciplined team of MEP engineers and designers.BENEFITS
