Our client seeks a Mechanical Engineer for their multi-disciplined Healthcare / Sciences Department. Primary responsibility is to support project manager and senior mechanical engineers and designers in
designing mechanical (HVAC) systems for various clients in the department. Coordinate and work with the
design team within your discipline and work with the Project Manager to execute project objectives in a
timely and efficient manner. Fluent in design and for Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities and both
Academic and Corporate Research Facilities.
This position can be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in our Voorhees, NJ office.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Design energy efficient HVAC system and mechanical systems per client requirements.
- Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as eQUEST, Trane
Trace, ENERGY STAR and / or Carrier HAP.
Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistentwith client requirements and the project budget.
Using Revit, perform design, layout, and checking of mechanical and HVAC drawings and ensure thetechnical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state and local standards
and codes.
Coordinate with facility owners and architects regularly; ensuring the highest levels ofresponsiveness and communication.
Conduct shop drawing reviews and construction administration.Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training when working together with them onprojects.
Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings and provide field construction support, as required.Implement training development, in conjunction with Project Engineer, other engineers, designersand draftspersons as assigned to your projects.
Assist the PM / Project Engineer in proposal development, client management and overall projectexecution.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements, specifically NFPA and JointMeeting
Must have experience / working knowledge of load analysis and energy modeling programs suchas eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and / or Carrier HAP.
Strong working knowledge and utilization of Autocad, Revit experience is a plus.Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.Must have excellent “in-person” communication skills to effectively communicate complexideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability
to prepare presentations and reports.
Able to read, write, speak and understand English.QUALIFICATIONS :
BS in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 5 years of professional experience, with proven progression, in the detailed design ofMechanic / HVAC design for critical care and / or laboratory facilities.
Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementingBuilding Information Modeling (BIM).Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but, at a minimum, should be working towardslicensure.
