Job Overview:
The Inventory Manager III is responsible for managing refined fuel logistics and scheduling across major pipelines (Colonial, Kinder Morgan, ONEOK, Enterprise, Buckeye) and airport inventory locations. This role oversees pipeline nominations, batch tracking, and inventory balancing, ensuring timely and cost-effective fuel transfers while mitigating supply disruptions. In addition to pipeline logistics, the Inventory Manager III manages airport storage levels, uplift balance reconciliations, and customer airline transfers, coordinating with FBOs, terminal operators, and internal stakeholders. The role requires expertise in capacity planning, demand forecasting, and fuel optimization strategies, balancing procurement objectives with operational efficiency.
This position serves as a critical liaison between suppliers, pipeline operators, airlines, and internal teams, ensuring smooth execution of the procure-to-pay cycle. Responsibilities include analyzing fuel demand, adjusting schedules for market shifts, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. The Inventory Manager III also collaborates with Sales, Finance, and Credit teams to validate pricing structures (Platts, Argus, OPIS), contract terms, and cost reconciliation while identifying opportunities for improved margins and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Pipeline & Airport Fuel Scheduling: Manage pipeline nominations, batch tracking, and terminal deliveries across major pipelines (Colonial, Kinder Morgan, ONEOK, Enterprise, Buckeye) and ensure efficient fuel transfers to airport inventories.
- Inventory Management & Uplift Reconciliation: Maintain airport fuel storage levels, perform uplift balance reconciliations, and coordinate customer airline fuel transfers while optimizing inventory turnover.
- Logistics & Supplier Coordination: Serve as the primary interface with FBOs, trucking companies, terminal operators, pipeline schedulers, and suppliers to ensure seamless fuel movement.
- Strategic Planning & Cost Optimization: Analyze customer demand forecasts, storage capacity, and supply chain constraints to determine the most cost-effective and reliable fuel delivery solutions.
- Finance & Pricing Analysis: Understand and apply pricing methodologies (Platts, Argus, OPIS) while ensuring contract terms, cost reconciliation, and invoice accuracy align with financial and operational goals.
Requirements:
- 4-5 years of experience in fuel supply, logistics, or pipeline scheduling; airport inventory management preferred.
- Expertise in pipeline scheduling, uplift reconciliation, and airline fuel transfers.
- Proficient in Excel, data analytics, and supply chain management platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to work under high-pressure conditions, manage multiple schedules, and meet strict deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, or related field).
