A leading automotive manufacturer in the Greater Cincinnati area is looking for a dedicated **Safety Specialist **to join their team. Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, including OSHA and other industry standards.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and resolve potential hazards.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage workers’ compensation cases and coordinate with safety consultants, including occupational health professionals and ergonomic specialists.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, including new hire training and refresher courses.
- Identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards through proactive risk assessments and safety controls.
- Lead emergency preparedness initiatives, including response planning and conducting safety drills.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and compliance reports.
- Promote a culture of safety through effective communication, awareness programs, and engagement with employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with leadership and employees to reinforce accountability and implement continuous safety improvements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and educate employees.
- Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Ability to develop and lead safety training programs.
- Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in safety coordination and familiarity with ISO safety standards.
