JOB SUMMARY:
As a Help Desk Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within our organization. Your primary objective will be to resolve IT-related issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruptions to the users' workflow. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a smooth and reliable IT environment by responding to user inquiries, diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams when necessary. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach are essential for success in this role.
JOB DUTIES:
- Accurate and efficient data entry, supporting EHR system.
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance, either in person, via phone, or email, and ensure a courteous and professional demeanor throughout all interactions.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues reported by end-users in a timely manner.
- Walk end-users through problem-solving steps to resolve technical problems and provide clear instructions for issue resolution.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT team or senior technicians, if required, and ensure proper follow-up until the issue is resolved.
- Install, configure, and update software applications, operating systems, and drivers as needed to maintain system performance and security.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access levels across various IT systems and applications.
- Maintain accurate records of all support activities in the ticketing system, including issue details, troubleshooting steps, and resolution information.
- Participate in IT projects and contribute to process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of the help desk function.
- Stay current with the latest technology trends and industry best practices, and proactively share knowledge with team members and end-users.
- Assist in the maintenance and inventory tracking of IT assets, including computers, peripherals, and other related equipment.
- Conduct system tests and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Follow established procedures for data backup, disaster recovery, and system security to safeguard sensitive information.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Answers questions and recommends corrective services to address customer complaints.
- Experience troubleshooting systems.
- Skilled in database programming and software installation.
- Proficient with MAC and OS.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiar with a range of software and hardware.
- Must attend onsite department meetings.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma
- A certification
- 1-3 years IT/Help Desk Experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
All work is performed within a standard health care/primary care clinical setting.
