About the Role
The Business Development Manager will establish and cultivate new client relationships to secure projects in multiple regions throughout the Western United States. This role is responsible for driving new client development within multiple regions. We are looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager who thrives on building relationships, actively engaging with potential clients, and staying deeply involved in industry organizations. The ideal candidate is passionate about networking, identifying new opportunities, and fostering connections that drive growth.
General responsibilities include:
- Promoting Aegis to owners, general contractors, developers, planners, architects, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders by increasing brand awareness, prospecting new clients, coordinating public relations efforts, and attending conferences and trade shows.
- Identifying profitable marketplace opportunities proactively.
- Building and managing long-term relationships and partnerships with key clients, as well as architectural and engineering principals to generate leads for both private and public projects.
- Following up on project leads identified by the Business Development (BD) Director and Regional Managers.
- Tracking projects, and maintaining consistent communication with the BD Director and Regional Managers, from concept through contract award.
- Attending pre-bid conferences and serving as the primary point of contact for external communications, clearly conveying all relevant information.
- Developing, preparing, coordinating, and executing presentations and proposals for both existing and new clients, ensuring support staff involvement.
- Collaborating with the BD Director to ensure accurate bids and proposals are submitted to all clients promptly.
- Closing clients, thereby securing contracting opportunities for Aegis.
- Assisting with proposal development and writing.
- Creating meeting agendas, leading meetings, and ensuring that follow-up actions are completed efficiently.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel is primarily local during business hours, though some out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary.
- BD Managers are required to travel for regional and national conferences and may need to visit regional offices once a quarter.
- This position will focus on the Western United States regions, which include several offices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field, or an associate degree with relevant experience.
- 5 years of experience in the consulting industry, with a proven track record in successful client capture strategies and leadership in pursuits.
- 5 years of previous experience with direct accountability for achieving financial results for a business unit in a consulting role.
- Demonstrated success in establishing relationships with clients across multiple regions through various premarketing activities (conferences, workshops, lunch-and-learns, permit negotiations, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal communication, and connection skills.
- Experienced in the development and management of diverse teams.
- Existing network of clients throughout the Western United States.
- Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to effectively engage and collaborate with clients and team members.
- Commitment to Aegis’ core values of quality work and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams; familiarity with Salesforce, Dodge Pipeline, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Monday Work Management is a plus.

The pay range for this role is:
90,000 - 105,000 USD per year(Dallas, TX)
