This company is seeking a highly qualified Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure work environment by effectively managing various health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to all accidents, reported incidents, and near misses on the production floor.
- Ensure comprehensive reports are completed for all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Medical Authorization and Workman's Comp:
- Approve employee medical authorization for the release of external medical treatment.
- Initiate claims into the workman’s comp portal and coordinate with doctors, nurses, claims adjusters, and specialists for accident investigations.
- Injury Claims Management:
- Continuously update injury claims with relevant medical information such as drug screens and work status reports.
- Report daily and weekly accident-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Record all light-duty assignments, missed days, and maintain the OSHA 300 log.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions to close internal investigations.
- Training and Safety Alerts:
- Coordinate first responder and OSHA training for responsible personnel.
- Initiate Safety Alerts and conduct applicable training.
- Safety Inspections and Checks:
- Complete daily business unit area board KPIs using the Safety Tracker.
- Perform weekly safety walks, eyewash station checks, and monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Coordinate annual fire extinguisher inspection and bi-annual fire suppression system inspection.
- Manage hazardous chemical inventory and associated tasks, including SDSs, training, and chemical releases.
- Continuously update emergency plans and ensure First Aid kits are well-stocked.
- Committee Participation and Audits:
- Facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Execute annual environmental health and safety audits.
- Training and Supervision:
- Assist in forklift safety and training for new employees.
- Supervise the implementation of policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Communication and Presentations:
- Report all safety-related issues to business units daily.
- Create presentations for monthly management safety review meetings and prepare materials for monthly townhall meetings to review safety items.
- Procurement and Waste Management:
- Order all safety-related items requested from multiple departments.
- Oversee third-party waste management control, particularly in handling glue waste from production.
- Drills and Continuous Improvement:
- Coordinate emergency drills and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices within our manufacturing facility.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
