Process Engineer/Project Manager
Aegis Worldwide is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer/Project Manager to spearhead projects from start to finish in the Elwood, IN area. The ideal candidate will have experience working within manufacturing environments, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, and excellent mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for process improvement.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to execute capital projects, process improvements, and new product launches.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Design and test new processes, equipment, and workflows to improve production capabilities.
- Create detailed project plans, including objectives, milestones, risk assessments, and contingency strategies.
- Act as a liaison between engineering, production, and quality teams to align process improvements with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during process and project execution.
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports to communicate project and process performance to stakeholders.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships for project materials, equipment, and services.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or related engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably food/beverage manufacturing.
- Experience in food safety, hygienic design, international aseptic, beverage, and juice standards.
- Hands-on mechanical experience and capability; able to troubleshoot complex mechanical machinery.
- Proven experience with pumps, valves, instrumentation, pneumatics, and process design.
- Proven experience with different fabrication methods used with stainless steel construction, including welding methods, materials selection, surface finish requirements, and finishing methods.
- Experience in thermodynamics calculations, heat exchanger calculations, and design.
- Experience in steam and condensate, industrial HVAC, and metallurgy.
