Job Summary
This Job position will assume one, or multiple, instances of the Business Data Steward Roles as needed across business data domains. This role will be supporting a single business data domain by responsibly managing data assets, data lineage, data quality, and supporting sound data analysis that rationalizes the applicable data governance strategy.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & TASKS
Under close supervision, performs routine data stewardship activities according to standard operating procedures.
DATA GOVERNANCE
Strategy & Methodologies: Learn and operate using the business data domain specific data governance strategy under direction from other data stewards.
Roadmap: Assist with maintaining metadata for a business data domain.
DATA QUALITY
Policies, Standards & Scope: Learn the SOPs. In an operational manner, run the processes to enhance the quality of a business data domain's data per lead data steward's direction.
Trust: Establish and build trust with others and work collaboratively with team. Prove yourself to be a dependable resource.
Completeness: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the completeness of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Accuracy: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Accuracy of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Consistency: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Consistency of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Integrity: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Integrity of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Reasonability: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Reasonability of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Timeliness: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Timeliness of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
Uniqueness/Deduplication: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Uniqueness/Deduplication of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.

Accessibility: In an operational manner, run the processes to identify and enhance the Accessibility of a business data domain's data under the direction of lead data steward.
DATA STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL
Actively participate in the Data Stewardship Council.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study; OR,
Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience; OR,
High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
Experience: No additional experience required beyond what is needed to satisfy the educational requirements above.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Assist with troubleshooting complex issues with guidance and leverage strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Under supervision of Business Data Stewards, run the metadata processes for a business data domain's data.
Run processes that certify that data is fit for intended business uses in operations, decision making and planning.
Use excellent oral and written communication in a clear, organized, and timely manner.
Demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of change, seek guidance without being prompted.
Work well in a changing environment.
Actively seek to understand the business and understand the business environment in which we operate.
Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
Must have an aptitude for: accuracy, attention to detail, following rules & standard operating procedures, and achieving goals.
Team player with ability to work and collaborate well with others.
Ability to learn data management, quality assurance and data flow skills.
Learn and execute SQL queries to research and analyze data.
Learn basic database structures.
Learn data cataloging and data profiling analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to follow directions and think in an organized manner.
INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: approximately ($62,000 - $77,000/year). In addition to base salary, AEP offers competitive Total Rewards including: discretionary annual incentive, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, educational assistance, etc.
