The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing and analyzing financial reports, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting account reconciliations, and assisting with financial audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and payroll processing, as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Accurately record and classify all financial transactions in the company’s accounting system.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage invoicing, bill payments, and collection activities.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating hours, verifying pay rates, and ensuring compliance with tax and labor laws. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries related to payroll.
- Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to monitor company performance and support management decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities to support financial planning and analysis.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to GAAP and company policies. Assist with external audits and regulatory reporting as needed.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare required documentation for tax filings and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial and payroll data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in accounting with payroll processing responsibilities
Skills:

- Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, HRIS Payroll) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (GAAP).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
