The Senior Accountant supports the accounting functions for the AERO Specialties Factory and Sales & Service Organization in Boise, ID. These functions include hands-on participation in the month-end financial close, managing inventory and fixed assets processes, preparing Budget vs Actual files, and supplying the Executive Team with the analysis used in decision making. The best candidate for the Senior Accountant position would have a strong foundation in accounting, the ability to pull data from multiple sources and provide analysis of this data. As Senior Accountant, the candidate needs to have a strong attention to detail, clear communications, and consideration for deadlines. This individual will support the AERO Specialties Management Team and will report to the AERO Controller.

Manage day-to-day accounting functions and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Ensure accuracy of accounting transactions, analyze trends, adjust discrepancies, and identify areas of improvement.

Month-End Close process :

Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations and understand flow of account transaction movements.

Perform Budget vs Actual analysis, P&L account research, and timely positing of journal entry adjustments.

Perform margin analysis and related research.

Financial reporting analysis such as reserves and commissions calculations.

Uploading company reporting via company systems.

Perform inventory reconciliations (RM, WIP, FG) and processes associated with standard cost, MAUC, etc.

Perform fixed assets and Capex tracking (additions, disposals) and cleanup, calculation of monthly depreciation.

Review monthly accruals and prepaids activities, adjust as necessary.

Support payroll processes and intercompany activities.

Ability to work with other departments across the Factory and SSO BUs to ensure financial data accuracy.

Support Controller with external and internal audits, and tax activity data pull.

Assist in the preparation of the company’s annual budget activities.

Support other finance projects as needed, including but not limited to accounts cleanup, reconciliations, weekly ACH / check runs, payroll processes, intercompany activity review, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.

Supervise staff accountant and provide guidance and support.

Requirements

What qualifies someone for this position?

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field, or an equivalent level of skill and experience.

IFRS and Manufacturing experience preferred.

4 years’ experience in a similar position or as an accountant in an industrial division in the business-to-business sector.

Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Experience with ERP systems (Infor / Baan a plus).

Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel (Vlookup, IfError, Sumif formulas, Pivot table), Outlook and Teams.
