ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Maintenance Controller, you will oversee the daily maintenance needs of the company's fleet, including aircraft, engines, avionics systems, and appliances. Reporting initially to the Director of Maintenance and transitioning to the Manager of Maintenance Control, you will work closely with the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, flight crews, Systems Operations Control staff, and other departments to ensure maintenance operations are seamless and efficient. This role requires a thorough understanding of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) as they relate to aircraft maintenance, with all work conducted in compliance with the Company's Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance to maintenance and flight crews in the servicing, repairing, the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration of company aircraft and ensure the airworthiness of company aircraft via electronic means from the maintenance control center.
- Perform work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with the approved CAMP, GMM policies and procedures, manufacturer's manuals, and FAA requirements.
- Ensure accurate maintenance records are completed correctly.
- Act as a liaison on behalf of the DOM and maintenance department and communicate effectively with Operations, Flight Crews, Flight Mechanics, and / others as needed as part of the daily operation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all mechanical discrepancies that may affect the daily operation of all Company aircraft.
- Work with appropriate teammates and leaders to determine whether discrepancies are deferrable under approved MEL, CDL, and NEF guidelines.
- Coordinate with Company maintenance and / or contract maintenance providers to identify, address, and resolve aircraft discrepancies and planned maintenance events so that all flights are back into service with minimal downtime.
- Coordinate travel for AOG aircraft for flight mechanics / engineers;
- Manage maintenance-related discrepancies using our computer tracking system.
- Determine corrective actions based on aircraft service history, analysis, applicable General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance, and Company guidelines.
- Promote teamwork amongst the maintenance team and flight crews.
- Uphold safety and security procedures and awareness.
- Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, as well as company policies, OEM manuals (such as GMM and AMM), and any additional internal procedures established by the company.
